Some of these details deserve to be paused on 👀

There are the little book-accurate choices and visual details I talked about in the video, like McGonagall’s office, the Weasley sweater, and the Mirror of Erised.

But while going through the stills, I also wanted to talk about how they managed to create the foundations of the Golden Trio.

Harry feels the weight of expectations he doesn’t think he can live up to.
Ron feels overlooked.
Hermione feels like an outsider.

And those three insecurities are SO important to understanding who they become and why their friendship matters so much 🥹

And somehow how the place he escaped to became the first place ever truly felt like home. The place where we found himself and his people. Maybe that’s why that chapter gets me every time. We all are hoping where we’re heading is better than where we’ve been.

Sometimes you just leave because you need somewhere else to go.

This $10 yard sale cabinet looked like something that had once lived in some strange little shop, so obviously I decided it belonged in Borgin & Burkes.

I’ve been wanting a more epic way to display my The Noble Collection Cursed Opal Necklace, and I really wanted it to look like it was floating because ✨magic✨.

Unfortunately, it turns out that when you don’t actually have magic, you need science 🙃

I tried multiple types of wire, cord and monofilament, approximately 47 different ways of securing the necklace, and then had to figure out how to light the whole thing without revealing how the illusion worked.

Eventually, I prevailed. 😂

I added the Borgin & Burkes lettering and the warning sign like they have in Universal— “CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH. CURSED. Has taken the lives of 19 Muggle owners to date.” and now this random $10 cabinet might be one of my favorite pieces in my Harry Potter collection.

I linked everything that actually worked in my LTK, but feel free to ask me anything if you’re attempting your own unnecessarily elaborate magical display.

It’s almost September 1st, and you don’t have to be anywhere in particular to feel the magic of it.

I can’t wait to watch the Back to Hogwarts Showcase from my couch and over-analyze every new detail we may learn about the HBO show. Philosopher’s Stone is back in theaters, and if you’re lucky enough to be near London, New York, Chicago, Orlando, LA, or any celebration popping up in your corner of the world, you can count down to 11:00 with a crowd of people who get it. However you do it, I love this day for the way it lets us feel part of something that keeps giving us joy and hope.

People use nonchalant like a badge of honor. A whole generation learning that apathy is cool. And I get it. It is easier that way. A person who isn’t really invested in anything is way more convenient. And it’s not a coincidence that people call you dramatic, too much, too emotional, right at the moment your feelings stop being convenient for them.

And it’s taken me years to see being sensitive was never a flaw to fix.

My ability to feel, to cry, to love fictional worlds like they raised me, to call a place from a book home, that is not weakness. It is the opposite of numb. It is being awake in a world that profits from me being asleep.

Care deeply. Pay attention. Let every feeling weave the tapestry of your life into something vibrant and wonderful. We’re literally just here to feel.
