Testing microcement samples with my tiny assistant ✨

Did we fully master the application technique?
Absolutely not.

Did we have fun making a mess and experimenting with colors?
Very much yes.

The colors though… definitely onto something.

The perfect spring palette.

Soft sage greens, warm maple, airy neutrals, and a deep grounded blue inspired by longer days, fresh mountain air, and the shift into a lighter season.

Spring palettes don’t have to feel overly colorful to feel fresh. Sometimes it’s just about bringing in softness, warmth, and materials that feel calm and natural together.

A day in the life lately:

morning emails
job site visits
sample returns
and two very committed assistants making sure I never go anywhere alone 🐾

Busy, a little chaotic, and exactly how I like it.

Sometimes the best transformations aren’t about adding more.
They’re about finally letting a space make sense.

What was once an underused sunroom with dated tile became a bright, functional kitchen centered around gathering, lake views, and everyday living.

Warmer materials, better flow, layered storage, and a layout designed to actually work for this family.

Same footprint.
Completely different feeling.

A project feature that proves warm minimalism doesn’t have to feel cold.

Rich cabinetry, quiet texture, clean lines, and just enough contrast to let the materials speak for themselves. The reeded wood detail brings movement and depth, while the soft layered neutrals keep the kitchen feeling calm and grounded.

Simple spaces are rarely simple.
Every line, texture, and proportion matters.

My camera roll these days:

Job site photos
Cabinet and plumbing dimensions
Quick sketches
And approximately 4,752 notes to myself with measurements

Because in the world of construction and ordering custom furniture it’s basically:

Measure 5 times
Order once
Then measure again just to emotionally support yourself.

Not glamorous, but this is where good design actually happens.

Sometimes the quietest details make the biggest impact.

For this stair, we paired clean lined steel rods with a handcrafted wood handrail designed to match the warmth and tone of the European white oak flooring. The contrast keeps the space feeling modern and light, while the natural wood adds softness and connection throughout the home.

Simple. Intentional. Timeless.

New tile samples just arrived and I’m unwell!

Handmade from 4 types of clay, full of texture and variation, with tiny squares featuring real flowers pressed right into them. Casual masterpiece behavior.

Now....to choose the right color for this moody green cabinet.

One of my favorite parts of the design process happens long before furniture arrives.

It starts here — with materials.

Stone samples, wood tones, fabrics, metals… all slowly coming together until a palette starts to make sense.

A good palette doesn’t shout.
It feels balanced, layered, and natural.

Right now I’m in the middle of moving offices, which means the materials library is getting a much needed facelift. New shelving, better organization, and finally a space where all of these pieces can live together the way they should.

Design may look effortless in the finished photos, but it almost always begins here.

On a table full of samples.
