My daughter Paige is running The Twin Cities Half Marathon For More this October as part of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund team and in honor our sweet Cody’s Memory.
So incredibly proud of my girl!
This is charity based event which requires Paige to raise at least $600.
The note below is from Paige.
Hi everyone!
This fall, I’ll be running the Twin Cities Half Marathon for more as part of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund team.
Running has always been a huge part of my life. I ran cross country and track throughout high school, and over the years I’ve realized it’s become so much more than just exercise. It’s one of the best ways for me to clear my mind, challenge myself, and stay grounded. Getting back into training has reminded me just how much I love it.
This race is especially meaningful to me because I’ll be running in honor of my younger brother, Cody, who passed away from leukemia when he was 12 years old. Watching him go through treatment changed my family forever and inspired my passion for science and research. Today, I’m studying chemistry in college, and I hope to one day contribute to research that improves people’s lives.
That’s why I chose to run for Children’s Cancer Research Fund. Every mile I run will be in Cody’s memory and in support of children and families facing childhood cancer today. Childhood cancer research receives only a small fraction of overall cancer research funding, so every donation helps support research that can lead to better treatments and, ultimately, cures.
If you’re able to, I’d be so grateful for your support. No donation is too small, and every contribution helps add meaning to every mile I run while training and on race day.
Thank you so much for supporting this cause and for helping me honor Cody’s memory. ❤️
