Every home has that one space that is the dumping ground for the extra, the unwanted, the miscellaneous. After multiple owners, this mountain cabin’s garage had reached its limit & needed an overhaul. The goal for this project was to reduce & reuse: no additional storage products were purchased.
Whenever you start a large project like this, it helps to pick a day with mild weather so you can pile up any trash or donation items outside and create “zones” for the remaining categories that will go back in the space. In a garage these might be things like: Automotive, Tools, Yard Tools, Back-stock Household, Holiday Decor, Paint & Building Materials, Bikes & Outdoor Gear, etc.
Once you have your items separated by categories, you can purge duplicates or things you no longer need.
Then it’s just a matter of picking the best area in the space for each category & giving everything a designated home!
What area of your home is begging for an overhaul?
