Griff's Greenhouse and Nursery Griff’s Greenhouse will be opening for our Fall Season Friday, October 2 from 10 am until 2 pm. Our normlFall hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10-2 pm.

We have a fantastic selection of plants for you to choose from. Elaine

I have pictures below of some plants blooming yesterday.
Also, we have the best selection of fruit bushes and trees we have ever had. A few plants are blueberries, raspberries, figs, blackberries, pineapple guava, service berries and pawpaws to name a few. Now is the perfect time to plant them.

This is the start of our Pollinator Garden. I am excited it is finally happening. We have planted some and we will be sewing seeds soon that need to be cold stratified. This bed will be a collection of native plants and perennials that our pollinators enjoy. I can’t wait for spring, but I keep reminding myself of the saying with perennials, the first year they sleep, the second year they creep and the third year they leap. Hopefully, with some TLC and good soil and good fertilizer we will not have to wait that long.

The rain has been so good. It has been what we needed, nice, slow, and soaking.

One family who came yesterday enjoyed watching the bees rest on the Goldenrod while it was misting. Most of the bees were upside down resting.

Now is a perfect time to plant shrubs and trees. We have a great assortment this year. We have sorted them in several areas, so when you are here take a nice stroll around or ask us to show you what is on your wish list.

I am curious, with the brutal summer that we had, what flower handled our weather best for you? Share a photo, if you are willing. At the greenhouse in a container the one that is still looking good and just keeps blooming is our Sassy Red Salvia. Other plants in the container didn’t make it. I “pruned” her back with a hedge trimmer and in less that two weeks she was in full bloom again. No, I don’t have a picture to show you this morning, but I will try to remember to take it today.

This week we will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10-2.

It was so good seeing so many of you this week. As I tried to tell a lot of you, we should have more pansies and vegetables in.
Our top sellers this weekend were our Natives, Blueberries and Hydrangeas. We will have more of each of those ready for this coming weekend.
I do appreciate the gentleman who thanked me for having so many Native plants. We are trying.😊

Yesterday was hot, but it was great to see so many smiling faces.
We sold a lot of Native Plants yesterday, that was exciting.
We will be open today, Saturday, October 3 from 10-2. Next weekend we will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-2.
We will have a lot more plants in.
