When using multi-tools, always ask: 'If I slip, where will the saw go?' Knowing it could hit your thigh or hand is a harsh lesson many learn firsthand. Protect yourself and always be aware of the blade's path.

Struggling with DIY projects? The right tools aren't just helpful, they're essential. Don't buy everything; rent, borrow, or even share with friends. You might be surprised what's available!

Using the correct saw for the job is crucial for both safety and quality. Cutting overhead can be dangerous; aim for a comfortable chest-to-belly button working height for maximum control. Don't try to cut sheets with a multi-tool or Sawzall – it's inefficient and risky. Remember, you can rent many tools if you don't need them full-time.

What is kickback?

14/06/2026

Jigsaws might not be called multi-tools, but they sure act like them! With blades for laminate, wood, metal, and even diamond-crusted ones for tile, they handle surprisingly tough jobs. Ever cut a toilet fl**ge hole with one? It's possible!

Miter Saw 101!

14/06/2026

Stay safe with your table saw by standing to the side of the material and always keeping guards in place. Use push sticks and never move your hands past the saw table. Your fingers should never get close to the blade.

14/06/2026

NEVER wear gloves with circular saws, miter saws, or table saws. If the blade catches your glove, it can pull your entire hand into the blade, causing severe injuries that are less likely to be repaired. It's a binding hazard that can drag your hand into the danger zone.

14/06/2026

Circular saws can be dangerous if you're not careful. Kickback happens when the blade binds in the wood, often due to pressure or how the wood is supported. This can cause the saw to violently jump back at you, which is a serious injury risk. Always be mindful of how your wood is positioned and supported during cuts.
