Please let me introduce 4 new colors! These are all natural soil mineral pigments we are adding to our suite this summer.
Azurite – I dream of blue earths in the wild. This color does not disappoint. It’s earthy and truly blue while delivering a rich, gray undertone. Azurite in a copper carbonate mineral forming in weathering zones (biogeochemically active areas) where copper is present.
Dwell is a blue-green micaceous mineral, celadonite, named for the French word for sea green - that, like all natural green earths, is subtle with unique behavior.
Glauconite is a natural iron-potassium phyllosilicate (layered silicate) mineral called glauconite. It is a part of the mica group and forms in shallow marine environments. When you see it inland (near Moab, Utah for example) – you are likely in the presence of a former inland sea!
Mazama is a strong, reddish-orange, iron-rich mineral pigment with added volcanic ash I was gifted long ago from a dear friend. The ash was deposited far from it’s origin in Oregon – in Idaho. This is 6,800-year-old Mount Mazama ash that inhabited the earth at the present-day location of Crater Lake. Wild.
