An elderly customer asked me to make a new knife out of her "favorite" paring knife. The handle was completely broken off, as was the knife tang. I ground new holes in the blade, carved a cocobolo handle, and made brass rivets to hold it all together. Some polishing and a fresh sharpening made it as good as new! She loves it!

Mid-Century Modern busted chair repair: made reinforced base and polished the chrome. Re-strung the buttons. Like new again!

A good friend brought in an old oak headboard, wash stand and dresser. We decided to refinish the dresser, restore the wash stand, and use the headboard parts to make a new wall mirror and a backsplash for the wash stand. Quite the project. It was neat to be able to re-use the decorative carvings for the mirror and backsplash. As you can see, I did a bunch of experimenting with the design.

A local gentleman brought in this antique pump organ top (completely in pieces) that someone had started to refinish. It was in very poor shape, and had broken and cracked parts. Before starting on the refinishing, I had to dry-assemble just to see what I was working with. Once I figured it out, I took it apart, made repairs to broken bits, refinished everything, and reassembled it. The scroll-work was very delicate and was very hard to handle, since it had really sharp tacks in it. Anyway, it has been reunited with the organ (which is still played by the man's wife) and they are really happy with it!

Hi all! This glider and matching footstool came in that had been stored outside. Full of mildew, stained and ruined finish. Customer wanted it restored, painted a nice white, and cushions replaced in order to welcome an adopted grand-baby. We were able to contact the original manufacturer to get new cushions ordered. After a COMPLETE disassembly, the old finish had to be sanded off, rusted bits polished, and the every part painted before reassembly.
