I am so proud to share this small project I did for the L&M NICU. Many families are now able to use this space that provides comfort and solace during uncertain times

A family waiting room in L+M’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has been renovated thanks to the generosity of the Auxiliary of L+M Hospital, turning the space into a welcoming oasis with soft lighting, comfortable seating, a refrigerator, microwave, counter space – even a journal for family members to express their thoughts.

L+M thanks the Auxiliary, and interior designer Sheri Giancarlo, for all the support and help. The NICU family room will now provide extra comfort and peace for families while their tiny babies grow stronger in the region’s only intensive care unit for newborns.

As one grandmother wrote in the room’s journal, “One day you’ll look back and realize just how brave you and your baby were in this season. Until then, take it one heartbeat, one breath, one moment at a time.”
