Day 22 of the Koh-I-Noor USA Drawing Challenge

Giraffes are the tallest animal in the world and are considered to be very intelligent. I couldn’t resist drawing this one. This is the 11th drawing for the challenge and my goal is 15 drawings for the month. I am doing the half challenge which is one drawing every other day.

Another fabulous reference from Jason Morgan Artist’s Reference Photos. Materials used were Rapidograph pen with universal black ink on Koh-I-Noor Bristol smooth in and out paper.

I'm making some more progress on my girl. She finally has eyebrows and eyelashes. Can't wait to share the final piece soon.

For this piece, I'm using Koh-I-Noor USA graphite pencils on vellum paper.

BERTRAND RUSSELL by Harley Brown- Done with a KOH-I-NOOR woodless drawing pencil.

Mr. Russell was one of the great genius individuals of history. My inspiration drawing him was from reflecting on his remarkably interesting life, as studied during my school days. This particular work was done a while ago using a Koh-I-Noor woodless pencil.

Most of my years in art have been frantic…fanatic. To describe my mind and my world can’t be done here. Just know that art was, and is, as important to me as eating and sleeping…which were often neglected. You understand. When looking at this piece, now rather objectively, I can sense my emotion coming through my approach. His character brought out through the lines and shapes that flow with a degree of arrogance. Pretty well summing up my approach .

I drew for my own total satisfaction and for no one else. Whether or not I was accepted didn’t matter; that I made my works exist was everything…morning ‘till night. This reveals my way of thinking …these words, that image.
