One reason you might be losing weight or experiencing blood pressure and blood sugar spikes is that you may be unknowingly stressing your body.

I’m sharing my personal experience and things I’ve researched, cooked up, and tried that have worked for me.

One of the main reasons many women suffer from hormonal imbalances is due to declines in estrogen and stress.

Stress is a major reason why women experience hormonal imbalances.

I didn’t realize the habits I had in my younger years that didn’t affect my hormones. Now, we have to be more mindful of them.

For example, I used to function on six or seven hours of sleep when I was younger, but now I need eight hours and naps.

Does this sound like you?
*Get enough sleep.
*Manage emotional stress well, which has led to two hospitalizations.
*I skip breakfast, have long gaps between meals, or fast, which causes cortisol spikes, cravings for sweets, and blood pressure spikes.
*I don’t eat enough protein, which causes muscle decline and leads to blood pressure spikes.
*I eat junk food and don’t eat nutrient-dense foods, which causes nutrient deficiencies.

Here are some things that helped me:
To balance my hormones,

*get enough sleep.
*Manage emotional stress
*Eat breakfast
* increase protein intake.
*eliminate junk food

Chicken breast is a high-quality source of lean protein that provides the essential amino acids needed to synthesize hormones. By slowing down glucose absorption, it helps stabilize blood sugar, preventing the insulin spikes that can trigger excess cortisol (the stress hormone). Additionally, its protein content supports muscle mass, which is vital for maintaining a healthy metabolic rate and overall hormonal harmony.

Defrosting chicken safely is crucial during menopause to avoid foodborne illnesses, as fluctuating hormones can sometimes affect immune response or cause symptoms that might be confused with food poisoning. The safest methods focus on keeping the meat out of the "danger zone" (40°F to 140°F or 4°C and 6°C) where bacteria multiply rapidly

High salt intake during menopause can worsen symptoms caused by increase levels of salt during this stage of a woman’s life. Symptoms that can be exacerbated due to intake of high salt includes floating, high blood pressure, bone, loss, density. One way to help lesson the amount of salt needed to season food is using mirepoix to season foods during stewing, braising and making broths and stocks, which are cooking techniques and methods that are useful during this stage in a women’s life due to estrogen levels decline, the body becomes more salt-sensitive, making it harder to manage sodium and increasing cardiovascular risks.
