I love surprises and this was a big one, or rather a very little one! Roman Cruise Eagleson came into the world 8 weeks early. By a strange twist of fate, his father was on a business call but I was present at his birth. I might add Traveling Midwife to my resume. Mommy, my daughter, was a rockstar and was later described to me by a nurse as “a real badass”. I couldn’t agree more. After 6 weeks in the NICU, Roman finally came home. We are all in love with this little boy. 💙

My peaceful sitting room this morning. That chair is just begging me to sit, wait, start the day a little later. Come to think of it the rug is too. The little chaise was my great grandmother’s. I read there every morning. The faded pink pillow is still covered in the original chaise fabric- it must be over 100 years old. Take care of the old things. They seem to love you back ❤️

A. Sunning myself on the deck of a vintage wooden boat in the middle of Lake Como or. B. At the Jersey Shore

They say it’s the journey not the destination so we made the journey to High Point Market as fun as possible. Our lunch stop at was a delight! That’s Chantal the sea lion who has her own unique mode of travel!

What looks like Date Night and felt like a multi-course gourmet meal was actually a cooking demonstration by the amazing Chef Sean to educate us on the versatility of kitchen appliances by Wolf, Sub-zero and Cove. What is that fluffy puff by the beef tenderloin you ask? It’s something like beef tendon that’s pounded flat and cooked to make it puff up, which sounds horrible but was actually delicious! Thank you Sub-Zero Group Mid-Atlantic for a wonderful evening!
