Some questions we receive after every Market on Canal

1. Do you do this every Sunday?
2. When is the next one?

Normally we are confident in our answers…It’s twice a year only! (Three times if you count our Christmas show in Lockport😉🎄) but after an incredible May 3rd Market that proved the resilience and dedication of our vendors and our customers🥰☂️, we decided to….

🚨ADD AN EXTRA MARKET TO OUR 2026 CALENDAR!🎉🎉🎉‼️🚨

We are rounding out summer with one more day of the areas greatest vendors, best food, live music and more!⭐️🥳🥳

And when we say more, we really mean MORE! 👀

We are combining two of favorite events into one special August day🤩 Not only will downtown be the home of this summer market☀️, your kids will have the opportunity to meet and greet eight superheroes🦸, princesses👑 and villains scattered throughout downtown Lemont and Market On Canal🕵🏼‍♀️

So basically, the most fun day for the entire family💕 Bring your kids, your wagons, your pets, your friends and enjoy the most magical day!🥰❤️✨

Happy Mother’s Day to you🖤
Hazel, I’ve loved every minute of being your mom but I have to admit, labor & delivery was pure bunk🫢

I’d like to shout out to shop manager Becky for spending part of her Mother’s Day watching me descend into madness. (As in anxiety, not the band 🕴️🏁🎺🕶️)

BIG LOVE to the moms that are like “eff it” because they know that the day isn’t going to live up to they hype so they come into the shop and choose their own gifts. Way to take the reins and I see you🥹

11-3 today but I’ll stay as long as we are busy🪴🪩👻

THE BIRTH OF ASTER GARDENS:
Always nature kid and farmer wannabe, I quit my job as a manager & corporate trainer for Starbucks(it was the 90s🤷🏼‍♀️) and took a job at The Growing Place in Naperville. I was young, so I was at Delilah’s for $2 Rolling Rocks at night and sweating beer/learning everything about plants all day.
Fast forward to working in landscaping on the north shore and Gold Coast until I cried “uncle”, guys- I still have ptsd from that life.
All that time, I was blogging about plants and that lead to writing books (and also for magazines that I was a massive fan girl of)
That lead to a rather robust speaking side-hustle✨

My kickass therapist asked me what I’d do if I could do anything and I said “I’d have a little shop that was plants & vintage” and I DID NOT know where that came from. With that new and surprising goal in mind, it was all pop-ups, collabs, consults and weird installs until I found 202 Stephen St.
