Now, let’s step inside the historic Ashland Park home we shared earlier this week.

The interior renovation focused on preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original architecture while creating a cohesive interior that feels both timeless and livable. Original details were restored and complemented by custom millwork, cabinetry and carefully considered transitions between old and new spaces.

From the reimagined kitchen and stair hall to custom built-ins, paneled openings and intimate secondary spaces, each detail draws from the language of the original architecture while bringing renewed purpose to the home.

This historic Ashland Park home was originally designed by prominent Lexington architect Robert McMeekin. Our work focused on preserving its original character while adapting the home for contemporary family life.

The exterior renovation included a reconstructed garage, new porte-cochère and covered rear porch, restored front dormers, a new exterior chimney and the restoration of architectural details throughout the home.

Traditional brick, classical columns, custom millwork, copper detailing and historically appropriate roof forms help the additions feel at home alongside the original architecture.

Millstone brings new life to historic Dudley Square. We were pleased to work on the addition, creating a distinct new space that complements the character and scale of the historic architecture.

Painted brick, steel-inspired windows, exposed wood and warm natural materials create a connection between old and new. Inside, generous windows bring natural light into the dining room, while a raised terrace extends the restaurant beneath the site’s mature tulip poplars.

The Camel Club reimagines a historic 1907 building as an intimate private club. The project involved a full renovation and remodel, preserving the building’s character while updating the interiors for today’s use.

Warm, layered materials and moody textures shape each space, from the bar and theater to the library lounge, adding depth and atmosphere throughout. This project is a celebration of historic preservation through transformation, giving new life to the structure while honoring its past.
