Benefits of lemon oil:
Lemon essential oil can be used for its powerful cleansing properties. Many people use it in DIY cleaners around the home for a much safer, natural alternative to store-bought cleaners. It is safe to use these homemade cleaners in your homes with pets in them, and much better for them! It is also helpful for brightening the mood in the home when diffused, and can be used to get sticky goo like gum or tree sap from your animals coat.

It is emotionally referred to as the oil of focus. It aids in concentration and helps decrease frustration in learning, as well as improving clarity and decreasing mental fatigue. It helps dispel lack of energy and joy and promotes confidence and alertness.

*Lemon oil may cause photosensitization. Use caution when applying topically.

How to use lemon oil with animals: Lemon oil can be diffused, applied topically or given internally.

🐓 For horses and cattle, apply topically by dropping 4-6 drops along the spine from tail to head, over the poll for increased energy and focus, or directly to an area of concern. This oil can be added 1 drop per gallon of water in troughs or buckets (ensure it is PETE 1 or 2 plastic or non-plastic) with a dispersal such as vegetable glycerin, or it can be given 2 drops in feed twice a day to help support natural cleansing.

🐶 For dogs, mix 1 drop with food or dilute 1 drop in 50-100 drops of carrier and apply topically. Diffusion is excellent as well.

🐱 For cats, water diffusion is preferred, and ensure the door is open so the cat may leave the room if they wish. Not for topical or internal use with cats.

šŸ¦ŽšŸ¹ šŸ¦œšŸ“ Lemon is safe to diffuse around reptiles and small mammals as well. It can also be added 1 drop per gallon of drinking water for chickens and turkeys, pet birds, and small herbivore animals.

Top 10 Tips to Keep Pets Safe This Halloween šŸŽƒšŸ¾

Halloween is all fun and games… until a curious snout finds the candy bowl or the doorbell rings 47 times. Keep it spooky & Safe this weekend!

1. Candy Control: it is for humans only! Chocolate, xylitol, raisins, macadamia nuts, alcohol & edibles are dangerous for pets. Use a covered bin for wrappers so no one 'sneaks' anything either!

2. Door‑Dash Defense: leash or baby gate during trick‑or‑treat hours; consider a ā€œplease don’t knockā€ sign. Keep pets inside.

3. Costume Comfort: Remember "B.A.R.K" - Breathable • Allows movement • Remove small parts • Keep ID visible. Skip the masks or any tight elastics.

4. Create a "Calm Zone": with bed, water, toys + white noise. Let shy pets hang there away from the howl-o-ween chaos.

5. Fire & DĆ©cor: choose LED candles, secure cords, keep dĆ©cor stable and out of reach of pets. Open flames around wagging tails and curious whiskers is a recipe for disaster. And No glow‑stick chewing!

6. Night Walk Visibility: use reflective collar or leash and a clip‑on light. Walk only on well‑lit routes. Avoid retractable leashes in crowds... or anywhere really.

7. Trash Patrol: empty often, tie bags, keep behind a closed door or lidded bin.

8. Party Plate Precautions: keep snacks high, offer a safe toy, pupcicle or lick mat. No bones, onions/garlic, grapes/raisins, fatty meats, or alcohol.

9. ID & Microchip: confirm tag info is current and legible, don’t rely on costume accessories.

10. Plan for "Just‑in‑case": save your 24/7 emergency vet and the pet poison control hotline numbers. Watch for vomiting, lethargy, agitation, tremors, stumbling, etc. - don't wait if something is off with your pets - call early - timing is important!

DID YOU KNOW that the tiny vertical groove between a dog’s nose and upper lip actually has a purpose?

It’s called the philtrum, and it’s not there by accident! Each time a dog licks its lips, a bit of saliva collects in that groove. Through a process called capillarization, the moisture travels up to the nose — helping keep it damp.

And why does that matter? Because a moist nose is much better at capturing and holding scents from the air. That’s part of what makes a dog’s sense of smell so incredibly powerful!

Not only dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, birds, etc.
