Happy New Year Everyone.
It is with many mixed emotions I write this in July of 2003 Generation Wood Floors Began since then except the short period after selling that company in 2010 and being the Project Manager I have been the owner operator of my own company in 2013 starting Carl Wheeler Floors. In that time I have had the privilege of working with many great people some who have gone on to start the own company's and are doing quite well. And have gotten the opportunity to work for some great customers and companies over the years.
Sadly Since December 2021 I personally have not been able to do anything other then phone and paper work and the is know sign that is going to change in the near future so after long and hard consideration My family and I have made the decision that 2023 was the last year of Carl Wheeler Floors. We made sure that we did not leave any jobs not done leading into the new year and as always will warrenty are work we did. This was one if not the hardest thing I personally ever had to do.
This is what my future looks like right now. I finally got to start PT a couple months ago and am learning to walk again using my walker at least 80% of the time I'm definitely getting stronger but have a ways to go with all the muscle cut out of the leg im get close to being able to drive again and can't wait and will be getting my sidecar for the bike in the next couple months which I will be able to ride the bike as soon as the weather is nice yea.
I have started making wood crafts and projects in the Garage or shop and the plan is for me to move forward and sell things at craft shows and other places. So very shortly you will be seeing pictures of Items Im making for sale. I have plans and hopes to grow get to the point we're I can not only do this for myself but maybe help other people that fall into the same situation were they all of a sudden are looking for a new path because everything they new is not something they can do anymore. Luckily I do have tools and the ability to still use my hands and mind because without that I have no idea what I would do.
I have yet to come up with a name for the new Business venture I tried incorporating Trex and Phoenix into wood creations but haven't found anything yet so up for suggestions. Also if there is something you want made feel free to reach out and let's see what we can do. Help me burly my portfolio and we can both help each other.
Well I quess that is how I will end this except by saying I look forward to this next chapter as I know once again I will get the opportunity to meet and help many new people along the way.
