No two of these ever come out the same, and that is the entire point 🎨

The blue and peach running down the inside of this bowl is something Lisa Tschauner can guide but never fully control, because the glaze does what it wants in the kiln. The ruffled edge plate has that same soft, weathered feel to it, right down to the edge that moves like a petal. Both came out of her studio, Lola Creative, here in Lincoln.

She works in stoneware and porcelain, and for her the clay is only the starting point. What she is really after is a piece that brings a little beauty and calm into the home it ends up in.

If you have never been in before, here is what to expect ⬇️

The showroom is set up in room groupings rather than long rows, so you can see how pieces work together instead of picking things out of a lineup. You are welcome to sit on everything, open the drawers, and take as long as you need.

If you have a question we are right there, and if you would rather just wander, we are good with that too.

Every so often a piece comes through the showroom that was built by one person, start to finish 🪵

This walnut table was made by Donald Lee of Lee Summit Woodworking, who handcrafts furniture to order right here in Lincoln. It has two easy glide drawers and a white oak inlay running across the top and down the front, and at just over 40 inches long it works as an entry console, a sofa table, or a narrow landing spot for keys and mail.

Donald builds everything to order, so if you like what you see but need it a little shorter or in a different wood, that is exactly the kind of project he takes on. Stop in and ask us about it.

Handcrafted pieces, picked and placed on your table just the way you want.🤎

The speckled blue mugs, the cream and cobalt mixing bowls, the chip and dip platter, and the little green glazed cups all came in separately, but line them up on a table in those soft earth tones and they look like they were meant to sit together. Add a jute trivet or a walnut board underneath and you have a table that feels collected over time rather than bought all at once.

It is an easy way to set out food when people come over, and honestly a table full of pieces that almost match is a lot more interesting than one that matches perfectly.

Why do we love leather? Because it gets better with age. It softens in the places you sit, it picks up character over the years, and it holds up to a lot more life than most people expect it to.

There is some beautiful new work sitting around the showroom right now, and it all came from right here in Lincoln 🤎

Lisa Tschauner is a ceramic artist who works under the name Lola Creative, and she also teaches in the College of Business at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She works in stoneware and porcelain, and you can see the range in just these few pieces. There are tall vases where the glaze runs and pools a little differently on every one, a sculptural fluted piece in deep amber, a hand carved leaf dish, and small lidded vessels that hold a candle.

We spread them out around the floor instead of putting them in one display, so you will find one on a dining table here and another on a console over there. That is really the best way to tell whether a piece speaks to you.

Every live edge piece is a little different, because the wood decides where the edge goes, not us 🪵

That is exactly what makes them worth seeing in person, since no two tops are shaped quite the same and photos tend to flatten out all the character.
