The artwork isn’t hung, and there are plenty of details yet to be added, but we are getting closer and closer to finishing our project in - The Walkup!! We furnished this space with a mix of new, vintage, and antique pieces. This bedroom has the serene vibes that remind me of my years in Greece - a place I cannot wait to return as soon as it’s safe to do so (and take my little design assistant with me.) Is there somewhere you are excited to visit once travel is something we can all do again? Where are you booking that first ticket to? ✈️ 🧳

Spent the afternoon with one of my amazing clients looking through slabs. We found a ton of great options and now I can’t wait to finalize selections! The same old issue as always... the ones we like the most are the most expensive. Which of these three options do you like best?

Growing up I don’t remember ever celebrating this day. In fact, the first time I became aware of it was when I moved to Milan in my early twenties. There, it was a THING, like - a big thing. There were vendors on the streets everywhere selling Mimosas (NO, not the drink 🥂- the flower it’s named after), these big enthusiastic bursts of the brightest yellow blooms you’ve ever seen. Everyone was talking about it, wishing each other a buona festa, and women went out in droves to celebrate together in the evening. Now, it seems like we celebrate more holidays - or we post about them anyway.

This one means a lot to me. I was always told as a little girl that I could be anything I wanted to be, but as I’ve grown up I’ve realized there are limitations to that and many of them have to do with being a woman and the way society views women. Deep seated beliefs that are held by both women and men are still holding women back.

According to a recent UN study almost 90% of men and women hold some form of bias against women. We’ve come a long way towards women having access to basic needs in many places - but there is still much work to do to achieve gender equality. I’d love to see it happen within my daughter’s lifetime.

This Women’s Day I’ll be thinking of the very recent generations of women who fought to have me considered as more than property, to allow me to own property, to give me the right to vote, and those of us that are still fighting to get women into positions of power and so much more. I’ll be thinking of all the women I am surrounded by who support each other and raise each other up rather than tear each other down. 👯‍♀️ 💕

Still sorting through all the contacts I made during my recent trip to Paris and Athens. I am looking forward to my next trip to market or my next vacation, but have hesitated booking any flights because of the uncertainty surrounding this virus. Friends of mine are posting photos of empty planes on their travels. How are you handling the uncertainty? Have you changed any travel plans, or are you moving forward with trips?

Many of you know that the past year and a half I was occupied with the enormous undertaking of co-founding a coworking space designed to empower women in business and in life. Countless hours were spent researching, planning, preparing, and finally building and growing this community and it has been an exhausting yet rewarding experience that has taught me so many lessons.

I am so thankful to all my friends and family who gave me their support, encouragement, and even donated their time and expertise to help Arrive get off the ground. ❤️

My family and my own business have had to take a backseat sometimes during this process, yet I was confident the sacrifice was worthwhile for the long term goal of creating something special.

I am stepping away from Arrive coworking and will no longer be associated with the space in a professional capacity, although I obviously wish them the best, still support the original mission of supporting women, and count so many of the members of the community as dear friends. ✌🏻

The demand for Lincoln Home & Design has exceeded my expectations and continued to grow at a rate thats been hard to keep up with. I’ve had dream clients patiently waiting for months to work with me, and have many interesting projects on the horizon. I can’t wait to give my current and potential clients my undivided attention.

I am incredibly lucky to be able to do what I love, and lucky that people love what I do!! I am so excited to continue to expand the Lincoln Home & Design brand as we continue to refine and optimize the experience we give to our clients. (We will be launching our luxe short-term rental in Havelock soon!)

I’m also grateful to be able to make some more time with my daughter Ivy and would love to share a bit more of that with all of you as we find inspiration and joy in our daily life and travels.

I visited some of my favorite dealers in Athens and am obsessed with things I saw there. There’s just no comparison with buying reproduction decorative elements - if you love a piece it’s worth the money as it’s something that you will keep and appreciate for years and that will actually retain its value. If you are interested in creating a curated collection specific to you - we can help.
