The finely woven baskets of the Shelton sisters of Forsyth County, North Carolina, are highly sought after by Americana collectors. This little converging-rib egg basket is woven from white oak splints and features a wrapped double rim and arched handle. The basket, only 6½" high overall, retains what is likely its original lightly varnished surface and sold for $2856 (est. $800/1200) at Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates-Catalogued Auctions
