I am truly obsessed with this floating blue on red clay. The color changes where the glaze is deeper in the carvings is so beautiful. My goal continues to make each piece special and unique - something you can’t just go buy at a big box store.

I left my large platter drying overnight on the wheel, covered loosely with plastic. It was the ideal carving consistency this morning. A little coffee in the garage, an audiobook, and my favorite carving tool…a simple, perfect morning! Right now this platter measures 14 inches across, but it will shrink 11% throughout the drying and firing process.

New serving platter on the wheel! This is my first time trying the wheel forms from GR Pottery Forms . Gotta support the awesome Michigan small businesses! I roll all my slabs the old fashioned way (by hand with a rolling pin…), and this one required quite a large slab for my tiny workspace. Fingers crossed it turns out! I plan on carving the inside rim and can’t wait to share more.

Excuse the garage, I know it’s not the most beautiful backdrop for these pots. But I was so excited when I unloaded the kiln that I had to share immediately. 🥰
