Today is a bittersweet day for our little community as we have a celebration of life service for one of our beloved dealers, Jon Evans, who passed away last Wednesday, May 20th.
We mourn the loss of a wonderful man, but rejoice in his arrival into heaven and freedom from his physical pain.
Jon, and his wife Pam, are one of the original dealers here at The Antiques Loft, dating back to 2015. Jon also went to school with our previous owner, Dean Brandt, so he was well known and respected in our community.
Upon pulling up to the shop, Jon would often get out of his truck and wave me over in excitement to show me a new piece of furniture that he had just picked up. He would meticulously clean it with care, as though he were placing it into his own home, before placing it in one of their two booths. He also had a great sense of humor, which will be greatly missed.
“Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.””
Job 1:20-21
