Her process always starts with listening to the clients. “It is important that my clients’ personality is able to be seen in their space.” She believes that a projects success is ultimately defined by the client’s satisfaction. Every one of Jana’s projects has her complete attention and involvement from concept to finish. Growing up in eastern Oregon has had a lasting impact on the way Jana approaches her work today. Oregon’s backdrop of beautiful mountains and lakes instilled her with a healthy appreciation for her surroundings at an early age. This appreciation is reflected in her commitment to using sustainable materials and using vintage pieces in her design.

Full of history, rich in detail, and beautifully lived in.

As an interior designer, one of my favorite things about travel is studying how a culture expresses itself through the spaces it creates. Spain was a masterclass in design that feels deeply rooted in place.

The interiors weren’t afraid of color. Tile was treated as art. Architectural details were celebrated rather than simplified. Even the ceilings demanded attention.

What stood out most was how these spaces balanced beauty and everyday living. Marble wasn’t protected—it was used. Rooms felt collected over time rather than perfectly curated. The result was design that felt soulful, authentic, and alive.

Spanish design is a reminder that great interiors don’t just look beautiful. They tell a story, reflect a culture, and invite people to truly live in them.

My brain was in full color spotting mode the entire trip. So much inspiration packed into one city. New York really knows how to make you feel something. ❤️

Historic architecture next to modern glass towers, tiny tucked away cafés layered with character, bold color moments, textures, lighting, fashion, movement… pure creative energy everywhere you look. Can’t wait to go back.

Homes shape the way we live far more than we realize.
They influence how we move, how we rest, how we recover, and how we show up each day.

As designers, we don’t just make spaces look good. We make decisions that affect health, habits, and wellbeing for years to come. That responsibility matters.

I’m honored to be speaking at the Designhounds Retreat in Sarasota, February 19–22, following , where I’ll be sharing why designing with fitness and wellbeing in mind is no longer optional. It’s essential.

When homes are designed to support movement, strength, recovery, and everyday life, they become tools for longevity not just beautiful backdrops. Wellness isn’t a trend or a luxury feature. It’s a foundation, and when it’s integrated authentically, great design becomes a necessity rather than an indulgence.
