Thank you all for your love and support. We raised $900 for my moms ice cream truck yesterday. 🩷
Hi folks, just want to let everyone what’s up. I took a little reprieve yesterday to get my grief out by doing some gardening some crying and trying to respond to the massive amount of messages coming in from my post and so many shares.
I’m completely blown away by the outpouring of love and support from my family friends customers and strangers. The go fund me is doing very good and yesterday at my daughter’s store they raised $900 from the bake sale store 50% donation and the direct donations. I’m so happy so many people care.
Sooooooo…now for hopefully some good news. I’m going to look at a truck today in Illinois that looks very promising. Not 100% what I would have picked but it’s already set up as an ice cream truck and can actually drive on the interstate so my area would really expand. That would be exciting since everyone knows I’ve stayed pretty close to home. It also has ac heat and a radio…mine had none of that. It needs a generator to run the regular freezers because they aren’t the cold plate kind but it has 6 freezers which I can work with for now. I’m totally excited and sure hope it’s as good as they say.
Also going to look at a nice bread truck in Poynette for a very good price but that would have to be made to be modified and that takes time. Maybe a second truck if everything works out and I get back to work.
Just this week not to mention the time I missed in Waunakee…I missed an event in Poynette…I have to cancel a day care party Monday in Lodi and a big company event in Middleton on Tuesday. I was scheduled to be in Poynette Friday to serve all the soccer kids and had to cancel that. Financially I can’t make that up. Not to mention I haven’t paid for the ice cream that burned up…half of it was on credit due on Monday.
If the insurance comes through right away and with the donations that are coming in that would be really close to buying the truck the generator and the restock of ice cream.
The freezer that was in my truck is what I want back in there because you don’t need electric for them during the day. It costs $12,000 to replace. That is my goal but getting a truck asap is the priority.
So many people said this must have happened for a reason and something better will come out of it. I’m gonna believe that because there were some things that happened that day before and during the fire that happened for a reason. Don’t get me wrong…I had a love hate relationship with that truck but it was a great little workhorse. It never failed to get me to where I needed to go but it was very old and primitive and a drafty rattletrap. It had one problem after another…or many at one time. It was scary to drive. I always likened it to going on a terrifying carnival ride every time I drove it but I will miss it for sure….it didn’t let me down…it just got old.
Sorry this got so long for those of you still reading it. Just thank you again for the help and support... with the help of all you great people out there I could be seeing you in just a couple weeks. I love you all… my heart is full!
