On this day Yesterday we lost the Old Man of the Mountain!'

On this day, May 3rd, we remember the loss of the Old Man of the Mountain.
A symbol that stood for everything New Hampshire represents: strength,
independence, and pride. When he fell in 2003, it felt like we lost more than a rock formation… we lost a piece of who we are. But every Granite Stater knows the truth, the Old Man didn’t disappear.

He lives on in the people of this state, in the grit, the toughness, and the deep-rooted pride that defines New Hampshire. Time and nature may have taken his place on the cliffside, but his legacy is still etched into the heart of the 603.

Pope Leo XIV on Monday responded to criticism from President Trump, telling reporters while traveling to Algeria that he has "no fear" of the White House.

The pope on Saturday called for an end to conflict, without explicitly mentioning the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran. "Enough of war," Leo said during a peace vigil in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

****Important update - The Nashua Police Department is pleased to report that 15-year-old Haylee Raifsnider has been located and safely reunited with her caregivers. We would like to thank the public for their assistance.

Nashua Police Issue Urgent Search for Missing 15-Year-Old Girl

Nashua Police Department has issued an urgent appeal to the community for assistance in locating Haylee Raifsnider, a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Thursday afternoon.

According to authorities, Haylee was last seen on April 9, 2026, as she was leaving Nashua High School North. Concerns grew when she failed to return to her residence later that day.

Police have provided the following physical description to help the public identify her:

Race/Gender: White female

Height: Approximately 5’6”

Weight: Approximately 160 lbs

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Green

At the time of her disappearance, Haylee was wearing:

A light pink shirt

Gray shorts

White shoes

A blue backpack

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Haylee or who has information regarding her current whereabouts to contact local authorities immediately.

Last evening during a 2 hour period between 21:22 & 23:15 the members of Battalion 2 handled 6 incidents with 4 of which being high priority dumping the town multiple times requiring the use of mutual aid.

21:40 Engine 1, Ambulance 1 & Paramedic 1: Grove St - MVA car into a telephone pole - 1 transport

22:05 Engine 1, Paramedic 1, BC-2 w/Derry Engine (Rescue) & Windham Ambulance: 432 Mammoth Rd - Car vs Pole with wires down - Mammoth closed an extended period

22:24 Engine 2, Derry Engine & Litchfield Engine: 50 Nashua Road - Commercial Fire Alarm

22:29 Engine 3, Ambulance 1 & Paramedic 1: Button Dr - Medical (Windham started but canceled as A-1 went available)

23:15 Engine 3, Engine 2, Rescue 1, Paramedic 1, BC-2 & Derry Engine: Industrial Dr - Trash compactor fire w/exposure to the commercial building
