Brass with black. Chrome with brushed nickel. Mixing metals is having a moment, and it's easier to pull off than it looks. ✨

The short version: pick one metal to anchor the room, balance warm against cool and stop at two or three finishes before it starts looking accidental.

Here's the part people forget though. Your floor is the biggest surface in the room, and it sets the temperature for every metal you put on top of it. Warm oak pulls brass forward. Cooler greys let black and chrome lead.
