Okay why is this lamp so important? Well it's a 19th century Staffordshire figurine with a hand made silk shade. This has been converted to a lamp in the late 50s to show off this superior piece of craftmanship back when things were all made by hand. Not only is this a true antique and super collectible, it's the history behind it that is so fascinating. Back in the 1700's pottery makers would dig holes in the road(made of clay) to make their pots hence the term pothole as we know it to this day.
