Thread and Roses Handweaving Beautiful handwoven tallitot, made by Amy Schweiger. I would be thrilled to create one for you I focus on creating tallitot - Jewish prayer shawls.

My goal at Thread and Roses Handweaving is to create beautiful and unique textiles that will enhance your life. These posts and photos represent current work, but I welcome the opportunity to work with you to create the tallit of your dreams for your next simcha or your regular prayers. I can also adapt these designs into shawls and scarves, should you wish me to create something for everyday wear

. I have been working with yarn since my beloved grandmother taught me to knit and crochet when I was six years old. I have always wanted to be a weaver, but only was able to fully embrace weaving as my avocation after my retirement. I hope that you enjoy their beauty as much as I enjoy creating them. A note on halacha and tzitzit : A tallit is just a piece of fabric until tzitzit are attached. I am not Shomer Shabbat, but I do not weave on tallitot or other Judaica on Shabbat or holidays. For tzitzit, a variety of options are available. I can tie them for you, but I find tying the knots spiritually uplifting, and encourage you to do so yourself. And I am happy to teach you how.
