Golden, sweet, cheesy, and comforting ripe plantain recipes perfect for family meals, appetizers, or a Caribbean-style homemade dinner.

1. SWEET FRIED RIPE PLANTAINS

Ingredients:

* 4 ripe plantains
* Oil for frying
* Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

1. Peel the ripe plantains and slice them diagonally.

2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

3. Fry the plantain slices until golden brown and caramelized on both sides.

4. Remove and place on paper towels.

5. Serve warm as a sweet side dish or snack.

6. RIPE PLANTAIN CANOES WITH GROUND BEEF AND CHEESE

Ingredients:

* 4 ripe plantains
* 500 g ground beef
* 1 tbsp oil
* 1 small onion, chopped
* 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
* 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
* 2 garlic cloves, minced
* 1 tsp oregano
* 1 tsp paprika
* Salt and black pepper to taste
* 1/2 cup tomato sauce
* 200 g mozzarella or cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions:

1. Bake the whole peeled plantains at 190°C (375°F) until soft and golden.

2. In a skillet, heat oil and cook the onion, peppers, and garlic.

3. Add the ground beef, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.

4. Pour in the tomato sauce and cook until juicy and well seasoned.

5. Split each baked plantain open like a canoe.

6. Fill with the ground beef and top with cheese.

7. Bake again until the cheese melts and bubbles.

8. CHEESY BAKED RIPE PLANTAINS

Ingredients:

* 5 ripe plantains
* 250 g mozzarella or white cheese, sliced or shredded
* 2 tbsp butter, melted
* Pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Peel the ripe plantains and slice them lengthwise.

2. Place them in a greased baking dish.

3. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with a little salt.

4. Bake at 190°C (375°F) until soft and golden.

5. Add the cheese on top.

6. Bake again until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.

7. RIPE PLANTAIN EMPANADAS

Ingredients:

* 5 very ripe plantains
* 200 g cooked seasoned ground beef
* 150 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1 tbsp cornstarch or flour, if needed
* Oil for frying

Instructions:

1. Boil the peeled ripe plantains until soft.

2. Mash them with salt until smooth.

3. If the mixture is too sticky, add a little cornstarch or flour.

4. Take a portion of mashed plantain and flatten it.

5. Fill with ground beef and cheese.

6. Fold into an empanada shape and seal the edges.

7. Fry until golden and crispy on the outside.

8. Serve warm while the cheese is melted.

9. PASTELÓN DE PLÁTANO MADURO

Ingredients:

* 6 ripe plantains
* 500 g ground beef
* 1 tbsp oil
* 1 small onion, chopped

* 1 tsp oregano

* Salt and black pepper to taste
* 150 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
* Oil for frying or baking

Instructions:

1. Cut the ripe plantains into thick pieces.
2. Fry or bake them until golden and soft.
3. Press each piece into a small cup shape while still warm.

Soft & Fluffy Homemade Bread

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm milk
