A pair of vintage galvanized steel planters elevated on cast lion paw feet, softened over time with layers of rust, patina, and living green. We’re always drawn to pieces that feel sculptural on their own, objects with history, weight, and presence, then allowing the plants to bring movement and life back into them.

Spent some time today in the studio with and left feeling really inspired.

What stood out most wasn’t just the work itself, but the process behind it and how it’s shaped by time, environment, and elements that aren’t fully controlled. There’s something really grounding about that.

His work touches on themes of climate change, and our connection to the natural world in a way that feels subtle and considered through technology in a way I haven’t seen before. It invites you to slow down and take it in.

At The Haus Plant, we’re always thinking about how to create spaces that feel connected to nature in a deeper way, and this felt very aligned with that.

Thank you for the tour and sharing your process and ideas for future projects. Can’t wait to see what you’re up to next.

Stan Bitters standing people sculptures, each depicting an elongated human form with an abstracted head, attenuated torso, and long striding legs on a rectangular base. The figures are radically simplified, facial features absent, anatomy reduced to its essential gesture and the exaggerated proportions give them a totemic, almost ceremonial quality. One carries a deep verdigris patina, the other a darker, more graphite-toned surface, both heavily textured from Bitters’ characteristically raw handling of the clay.

Bitters is known for large-scale ceramic work that bridges sculpture and architecture, and these figures are representative of his approach — hand-built, expressively surfaced, and operating somewhere between the primitive and the modern.

A quiet corner of the Haus Plant, our stock room where antique finds and artisan-made vessels live side by side, each one carrying its own history, texture, and soul. Sourced, collected, and ready to be styled and find their next home.

Honored to have this space featured by the New York Times.

I meant to share this yesterday for Earth Day, but maybe that’s the point, Earth Day isn’t just one day, it’s every day.

With everything going on in the world, it’s easy to get caught up in the noise. Take a moment to step outside. Go into nature. Pick up a piece of trash. Care for a plant. Reconnect.

At The Haus Plant, we’ve always tried to see nature through the lens of design, finding beauty, intention, and meaning in the way it lives within our spaces. And every day, we’re working to do that in a way that feels bigger, better, and more meaningful.

This past weekend, I had my parents in town and we spent time at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens and out in Malibu. It reminded me why I started The Haus Plant in the first place, out of a need for connection, for grounding, for something that felt like therapy through nature.

I hope The Haus Plant can inspire even a small shift in how people see and experience the natural world. 🌿
