Happy Tuesday everyone! Sharing with you all just some of our featured rugs from our Sultanabad Rug Collection! Visit our website or store for a closer look.
The Arat region of western Persia has been known for centuries for their distinctive hand-woven carpets. During the late 19th century, Sultanabad weavings remained indigenous works of highly stylized patterns. The prized blue and rust of Sultanabads often possess a charming naivete, along with a palette based in undyed sheep’s wool in hues of ivory, cream, and beige. The finest and hardest to find are both blue and rust pieces, and the entire Sultanabad group use all-over designs of spaciously placed, extremely over-scale blossoms, and asymmetrically arranged across a sparsely adorned field.
