William Friedkin, the Director of “To Live and Die in LA” unfortunately passed away yesterday. My father played the judge in the movie and Fun Fact: the character did not have a name and William asked my father who it should be, he ended up using the name of his Uncle Filo Sedillo, who was in fact a judge in Belen NM.

I stand in solidarity with the writers & SAG/Aftra. My father, Valentin De Vargas who was a well known character actor was typecast & booked mostly Latino roles. During the 90’s work dried up for him & residuals were the only way that he could survive.I know that if he still was here, he would be picketing for actors rights! He was also a member of Nosotros the first arts advocacy non-profit group for Latin actors and was founded by Ricardo Montalban. One of my most favorite staging projects, that I installed a couple months ago in Brentwood. Extraordinary original mid-century house in the Hills. Installed this three bedrooms home and project managed a new office with a new Murphy bed and laundry room. Floor to ceiling views of the hills off the living / dining room.
