It all start off by trying to find a Tiki Mug for my bride for her upcoming birthday. A few monster mugs had been made in the past, but most were sold out and no longer available (not even on Ebay!). So, I began to sketch out a few ideas that came to mind that I thought would be perfect for my horror loving bride, and that’s the story of how our first mug “Monsterstein” came alive! We have always
had a love of Horror, Polynesian Culture/Tiki(especially the drinks!), and Disney… just simple escapism. We started collecting so called “Tiki Mugs” was on our honeymoon in 2014, we had went to Don the Beachcombers for some lunch, we sat in the bar and enjoyed some nachos and a few libations after taking a look in their case of all the tiki mugs they had, the waitress then came over and told us they had a few available for sale. We of course purchased one for each of us, so we could remember this time in our life. It was all down hill after that, we were hooked! And yes we know to you “Tiki Veterans” we’re just the newbies on the island but you have welcomed us with a warm alohas, thank you. Now we look forward to going to events, meeting our customers and seeing some great artists such as Tiki Rob, Tiki Diablo, Scott Taylor, Boo Tiki “Jeff Winkle”, Tiki Tony, Eekum Bookum “John Mulder”, and Munktiki “Paul and Miles Nielsen” - these people are really great artist and they are such a great inspiration to us.
