I remember as a child, my maternal great grandmother would find her favorite spot on the couch and crochet the daylight away. I would sit at her feet and play with the yarn, sometimes causing it to tangle. I was always fascinated by the speed of her hands, the way she didnt always look at the piece she was working on and how beautiful her work was. In the past I made two attempts at learning how t

o crochet, needless to say I gave up. I had no patience, I was young with too many things going on. It wasnt until i was pregnant with my second child that I really gave crocheting the time and respect this craft requires.Five months pregnant, a ten year old, no steady income, no employment and as it appeared, no way out. So I decided to purchase a hook and some yarn and make what i couldn't afford to buy. One creation lead to another, and another and yet another. I posted pictures on my personal fb and friends began making requests. At first it was a beanie sold, a can of formula purchased. A blanket made was a few packs of diapers. Little by little my fb page became a means of my small family's survival. I do it every day every chance I get. I love knowing that my two hands create pieces that people fall in love with. In the end it really doesnt matter how much talent a person possesses if noone believes in them. I wouldnt have made it as far as Ive come without the support of my friends and family that believe in the pieces I create.
