This dress was originally conceived as a birthday dress: a puff-sleeve modernizes a 1960's house-dress silhouette, with a chic empire waist and high collar band to elevate the look. A nod to my midwest roots, and a more form-conscious take on the prairie dress trend. A special piece, but still super comfortable, adjustable (the back tie controls how tight the bust area is), and wearable for everyday.

The pattern includes options for a mini length skirt (Size 1 = 20.5” from empire waist), or a midi length skirt (Size 1 = 34” from empire waist). You could also crop it even shorter and make it into a top! The mock neck collar can also easily be removed to create a crew-neck style. Lots of options here for modifying and making it your own!
