A “Corvette” inspired kitchen island. This red hot rod was a melding of the minds to create a unique, bespoke island that was mobile, red and with a touch of automotive design. All the hardware is for an actual C2 Corvette, and the chrome trim is designed for the exterior of a car. There were many head scratching moments and steps to make the hardware work, but it came out very nice. Beyond the aesthetic, this pieces features baltic birch drawers and pullouts, blum movento drawer slides with tip-on push to open for the two can trash pull out and 155 degree zero-protrusion hinges to clear the pullouts. The client loves it, and so do I. By far my most unique and challenging piece yet.

An odd cavity, which is common with older LA homes needed to be filled. An adjustable shelf built in was decided on and commissioned. While “simple” in style, anyone who’s scribed to a wall knows how tough it can be. Multiplying that x4 and having them all connect was very challenging. Happy with how it came out and for the experience.

Reverse engineered and rebuilt this aging and broken MDF tri-fold mirror using white oak and maple/birch pre-finished plywood. The concept and functionality of these mirrors are great, although a bit tedious to make. I had to re-use the hinges as they don’t seem to exist otherwise!

Maple shelf brackets. These maple shelf brackets were requested to be in 3 different sizes and 2.5” and 2.75” thick respectively. Because of their size and dimensions, a “sandwich” was created where the middle (thickest) piece was made to house a french cleat. A common and easy way to mount to walls with incredible strength.

The cleats are typically full length across, but with this design, the brackets can float and be any size with the strength and rigidity of the cleat.

Also machined some tear out into one of the pieces… so i cut and replaced it. The real beauty of wood is being able to “fix” issues like this.
