KG Louie Co. is one of the original stores of the New Chinatown, and Ronald Louie was born 6 months later!

Happy 75th Anniversary!! Los Angeles Chinatown Corporation dedicated Central Plaza on this very day, June 25th, in 1938. It's been a beautiful 75 years here in Chinatown, and we are looking forward to many many more! Congratulations to original Chinatown Merchants Grand Star Jazz Club and KG Louie Company!! And let's not forget our other Central Plaza friends Via Cafe Restaurant New Dragon Chinese Restaurant REALM|home Ooga Booga Wonder Bakery and many more!!

KG Louie Co. is closed this morning to honor and remember the life of Betty Chew, KG Louie's oldest daughter. She lived a long and full life, reaching the amazing age of 95 years old. She is survived by a son, a daughter, grandchildren, and a great-grandson. May she rest in peace.
