It’s so easy to get wrapped up in what other businesses are doing and how they’re doing it simply because we all have way too much access to each other.

But it’s important to me to remain grounded & true to myself & to Predominantly Black.

Sometimes growth looks like expansion & sometimes it looks like coming home.

For a while, we thought moving forward meant becoming more polished, more palatable, more like what a brand was “supposed” to look like in order to grow.

But somewhere in that, we started moving away from the very things that made PB… PB.

And no amount of monetary gain is worth diminishing the core of who we are to make ourselves easier to sell.

So we went home.

Back to the original artwork. Back to the stories. Back to creating things that feel like us instead of creating things we think everyone will understand.

And while we were there, we realized something else.

We aren’t just a Candle Haus anymore, we’ve grown.

So, the Candle Haus is gone.

Predominantly Black is NOT closed.

The Candle Haus closed.

Because we aren't just a candle company anymore.

We are officially A PREDOMINANTLY BLACK CANDLE + BODY HAUS.

Candles. Body care. Home fragrance. Fine fragrance on the way.

And while we were at it, we took PB back to what made it PB in the first place — the original art, the good scents, the names that meant something, and a brand that doesn't need to make itself smaller to fit everybody.
