Yesterday we said goodbye to our loving girl. Lucrezia was a beautiful princess with the most hazel eyes. She was a wonderful nanny dog who loved protecting and caring for everyone in the home. She was the best part of my life, I will miss her dearly and our home will never be the same without her light.

Thank you to those who knew her and loved her. We will carry her memory with us forever and always.

I love you Princess Lucrezia, light of my life. Xx

Mix and match...
Honestly, I don't really worry about color coordinating or matching my knitting to my outfit. I'm just trying to stay warm. But I do have a few pieces that I can wear with almost anything.

Inspiration


No, it's not my doggies although I love them to bits. It's all things Sci Fi that inspire me to Dye. It takes a lot to inspire me but I find that science fiction always plays a factor. Science is my muse. 😆 🤣 😂 Dork.

Colorful

I've changed my logo a few times throughout the years. I probably should have paid someone to do it for me if I wanted to be taken seriously but I never did. And although it might not be the greatest logo it's always been the most colorful. At least to me. I'm quite happy with it currently though printing in color yourself can get costly. Lucky for me I don't get a ton of orders at once. LOL!!!

On The Go
Day 13
I'll be honest I don't really do on the go projects anymore. I haven't for many years. I've taken everything I've ever knit on the go with me. Even a beaded lace weight shawl. Yup, beads and everything went with me everywhere. I had a system.

So whether it's a Mushroom 🍄 for the mantle above the fireplace or a sweater I'm taking it with me.

Omg remember the blanket I knit at the hospital last year? I took that thing everywhere and it was for a king sized bed. I have no boundaries. Lol

Project Twin
I knit all my socks two at a time. Even if the pattern doesn't call for it. Two at a time and toe up even if the pattern is cuff down. It's not because I want to save time. It's because I can't deal with uneven sock length. Length. Let me repeat. Length...
You can add extra stitches in one sock and not the other.. add them here... take them out there, but one ENTIRE row more than the other sock and I will see it. You put that in your magazine and I can't ever look at it again. I can't even knit your pattern.
I don't know why. No clue. It just happened. I am uneven sock averse. 😆
I will leave the ugliest stitches, the ugliest mistakes...I will leave holes and unwoven ends but give me uneven socks and I want to throw up.
I mean.... does anyone know what that's about? 🤔

Here's some more before and after pics. The labeled skein is my original prototype. The first Expanse yarn ever dyed. The unlabeled hanks were dyed last night. Wooh!

You guys. That's pretty epic. It's not easy even with a recipe to be that dead on. I just had to showcase that. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Now And Then Day 10
I'm a day behind but I've been so there you go. For reasons I can't fathom I've been getting these orders left and right. And honestly I'm dumbfounded. I haven't really put out any new colorways in a long time. Mostly because I'm so tired guys. Most of you know I went through covid last year. I was hospitalized and took a long time to recover. Well I haven't fully regained my taste buds, my hair finally stopped falling out in globs and I'm permanently pooped. Like utterly pooped

So while I'm planning on dyeing up some new colorways for my shop I'm still really enjoying this yarn that I came up with a few years ago. There are times when I think, omg how will I ever recreate that yarn? But I do it everytime. And everytime I am just in awe.

Yeah, I don't have a lot of colorways in my shop. I do dye to order in tiny batches. I don't do shop updates. Pretty much zero marketing. And yet people come. No one is knocking down my door and if i depended on sales I would starve but GOD I can't express to you what a joy it is to Dye for you. Truly the highlight of my life thus far and I swear to you that for a long as my body doesn't give in I will do it for years to come. Good willing
