When I started my calorie deficit, there were a few harsh reality checks nobody really prepared me for.
First, I was constantly hungry. Even right after eating a full meal, I would still feel a lingering urge to eat more.
Second, my energy levels and my mood completely dipped for those initial weeks. 😴
It was frustrating, but here is the key lesson, it was only temporary.
It took about two to three weeks for my body and mind to adapt to eating less food, lower intake, and new meal sizes. Once I pushed past that initial adjustment phase, my energy stabilized and the constant hunger went away.
This might not be everyone’s exact experience, but it is extremely common when you transition into a real deficit
If you are in those brutal first few weeks right now, do not panic and do not quit.
Your body is just adjusting to the change. Give yourself grace, stay consistent, and give it a few weeks to settle in.
