Not all hardwood species perform the same. One way we compare them is with the Janka Hardness Rating which is a measurement of how resistant a wood species is to indentation. The higher the rating, the harder the wood.

That’s one reason we love showing customers exotic hardwood options from Triângulo Hardwood Flooring. Species like Tigerwood and Brazilian Cherry give you something different from the white-oak-everywhere trend: rich natural color, dramatic grain, and impressive hardness. Triângulo’s own specifications list Tigerwood at 2,160 and Brazilian Cherry at 2,820 on the Janka scale.

Have dogs but still want real hardwood instead of LVP? A harder wood species may be worth considering. Just remember: a higher Janka rating means greater resistance to denting and indentation.

Stop by Carpet Selections to see Triângulo exotic hardwoods in person and compare the colors, grains, and species.
