Life is hard enough. We’re sprinkling in the silly wherever we can. 🌸🪩

Dance parties in the flower studio. Babies on chest. Kids underfoot. Music playing. Flowers everywhere.

Sometimes the answer to the hard seasons is putting on a song we all love and aggressively dancing over a bucket of zinnias. 😂

Consider every Poppy bouquet officially anointed with a little chaos and…. a LOT of joy. ✨

All for the sake of growing something beautiful.

Repeat every time I change irrigation zones 😅

At least my dahlias are hydrated and my quads are thriving.

PS this is (part of) why your local flower farmer can’t compete with grocery store (that one starts with a T and ends with Joe’s) pricing

There’s so much of farming that isn’t beautiful.

It’s dirt under your nails (all the time), sweat in your eyes, weeds that grow faster than you can pull them, things breaking, things dying, plans changing, and work that never really feels finished.

And then there are these little moments.

An armful of flowers.
Sheep following you through the field.
Kids running down a mowed path.
The light hitting everything just right on a dewy morning.

Tiny flashes of beauty tucked inside all the mess and hard work.

So yeah, I love it.

Fall subscription started this week and it’s officially the BEST time for flowers of the entire year (in my humble opinion 😉)

“Seek truth and create beauty”

Something my brother wrote when he was in high school and I found after he died.

Something about it hit me.

And the more I think about it, the more I realize how truth and beauty really anchor so much of my existence.

Not everyone understands what we’re doing here at Poppy, but those that do, I appreciate you.

Meet the flock 🐑🤍

Blueberry, Pancakes, Biscuits, Gravy + Benny… five little personalities, one very loved flock.

Somehow they were exactly what the farm needed this year and it just keeps getting a little more magical. 🌸🐑

Follow along for more cuteness ✨

Poppy’s Play Garden (a couple weeks ago) was all about SHEEP. A little wool washing, a little sheep tea party, hands cooking in the sheep kitchen , and a whole lot of time outside. 🐑🌿

This is the kind of childhood we want to make more room for…

And if you’ve been craving more outdoor education + more community for you and your little one, our parent + child Forest School is starting a new session October 8th. 🍂

Designed for ages 9 months–5 years, we’ll gather outdoors to learn through the seasons, explore the natural world, build connection, and give our littlest learners plenty of space to simply be outside.

Come spend the fall with us. 🤎 DM for more info!

Kinda chic to build a life that feels a little more alive.

To know the names of the flowers growing outside your door.
To let your kids get dirty.
To buy something beautiful from the person who grew it.
To care about the soil beneath your feet.
To make friends with your farmers.
To let animals, seasons, grief, beauty, and death teach you something about being human.
To choose community over convenience.
To believe that flowers don’t have to be necessary to be important.

Maybe kinda chic is just remembering that we belong to the natural world, too.

➡️ And speaking of choosing beauty in the everyday… our Fall Flower Subscription starts THIS WEEK.

Six weeks of whatever is most beautiful in the field- dahlias, zinnias, grasses, textures, wild little bits, and all the seasonal magic we possibly can tuck into a bouquet.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is the time! Link in bio to sign up. Pick up and delivery available.

More mornings where nobody tells them what the stick is supposed to be. More hands in the mud. More pouring and digging and collecting tiny treasures

At Poppy’s Play Garden, we set the invitation and then we try to get out of the way.

Last week was all about DIRT 🤎 Mud kitchens, digging, creating, exploring, and plenty of permission to get really, really messy. (I think even the parents left with some dirt on their faces 😂)

Every Tuesday at the farm. Tomorrow’s theme is BUGS 🐞🦟🐛 Hope to see you there!
