Yarn Designer's Boutique is located at 439 W. Big Bear Boulevard, Big Bear City, California, at the Big Bear Lake four-season resort paradise in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains. A wonderful contrast to other sunny Southern California cities, Big Bear is cooler, has cleaner air, and features one of the most unique yarn stores in the country.

The Kind of Yarn That Hugs You Back
Some yarn just feels like a hug, you know? Like, you wrap yourself up in it, and suddenly, all is right with the world. That’s exactly how Urth Uneek Worsted feels. I made a scarf with it, and every time I put it on, it’s like wrapping myself in a little cocoon of happiness. Highly recommend.

I love a good one-skein project, especially when I’m trying out a new yarn. If you’re like me and want to dip your toes in before committing to a big project, I have two words for you: cozy cowls. I made the Sliplicious Cowl with one skein, and now I never want to take it off. Just soft, warm perfection.

That Moment When Your Stitches Look Perfect
You know when you’re knitting, and everything just flows? That’s how it feels working with this yarn. It’s got the perfect amount of stretch—stitches stay crisp but still have this soft bounce. I started knitting with it last night, and I swear, I meant to stop after a few rows, but… well, let’s just say bedtime was much later than planned. Oops.

I have a problem… I cannot stop staring at the colors in Urth Uneek Worsted. The way this yarn takes dye is just chef’s kiss—rich, deep, and slightly glossy. I’ve been trying to pick my favorite, but honestly? It’s impossible. I just want them all. Tell me—are you more of a neutrals person or a bright color lover?

No More Hand-Washing Sweaters!
I love wool, but let’s be real—I am not great at remembering to hand-wash my knits. That’s why I’m so happy this superwash merino exists. It’s soft, warm, and—get this—machine washable. I made a cowl with it, and when I inevitably spilled coffee on it (because, of course), I just threw it in the wash. It came out perfect. No shrinking, no felting, just as soft as before. Game-changer.
