When Harper was born through age three, we always had live Christmas trees. After that, we got this tree, and since 2019 Harper has helped Chaise put the topper on every year.

The only year we skipped was 2024 because we were getting ready to move into . Now we’re coming up on a full year in this little house of ours, and every day it feels even more like home.

Watching this little tradition grow and capturing it along the way has been one of my favorite parts of the holidays. She’s a mama’s girl through and through, but when she’s in a dad mood, no one else stands a chance.

Chaise is the best dad, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner to raise this firecracker with.

I could make a list a mile long of excuses for why I haven’t posted finished photos of the house since we moved in this past January—but as my momma would have said, excuses are like as****es, everybody’s got one.

Maybe my favorite part of isn’t even inside—it’s the sky. The sunsets out here? Chef’s kiss. I stop and take them in every chance I get.

We still have plenty of big projects ahead. For now, it’s a mix of unpainted, unfinished, temporary fixes holding us over…things that will get done, one day. Until then, we’ll just be here living our best lives. ✌️🖤🏠

It’s been just over a week since we moved into , and here’s where we’re at:

Harper has officially come around! She was hesitant about leaving the only home she’s ever known, but now she’s decided this house is definitely better than the old one.

Adjusting to a 97-year-old pier-and-beam home (compared to our 27-year-old slab home) has been an adventure—especially in the winter! We’ve been busy sealing off drafts and working to keep her cozy.

The dogs, on the other hand, are loving their new land to explore and seem to be transitioning like champs.

There’s still so much to do, many challenges and touch ups ahead but this house already feels like home.
