A busy start to this Monday morning, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Funeral work is more than what I do—it's where my heart truly belongs. Being trusted to create a family's final floral tribute is an honor that never gets taken for granted. In some of life's hardest moments, flowers become a way to express love, memories, and a farewell that words alone often cannot.

Every casket spray, standing spray, and sympathy arrangement carries a story, and being part of that final goodbye is what touches me most. It is my passion, my purpose, and my greatest privilege.

No matter how busy the days become, my love for creating meaningful tributes for families will never change.

Some designs touch your heart a little differently.

This tribute was especially meaningful to create because I know the family personally. They trusted me completely, simply sharing their loved one's favorite colors and allowing me the freedom to design from my heart.

When families place that kind of trust in me, it becomes more than creating flowers—it becomes telling a story. Every bloom, every color, and every placement was thoughtfully chosen to reflect a life that was loved and cherished.

As a florist, there is no greater honor than being entrusted with such an important final tribute. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to create something so personal and meaningful for a family I care about.

Flowers may be beautiful, but the love, memories, and emotions they represent are what make them truly special.

Looking back on a design that challenged us creatively and touched our hearts.
With the Pow Wow concluding last weekend, we wanted to share a special piece we had the honor of creating to pay tribute to a longtime member of the Monacan Nation.

Many of you may not know that Jenny, owner of Kathryn's Flower Shop, is a proud member of the Monacan Nation herself. When presented with the opportunity to design this meaningful tribute, she embraced the challenge with great pride and respect.

Every flower was thoughtfully placed to honor a life, a legacy, and a deep connection to the tribe. Moments like these remind us why we love what we do. We are forever grateful and truly blessed to be entrusted with creating one-of-a-kind pieces that tell a story, celebrate a life, and honor traditions.

Of all the sympathy tributes I have created throughout my career as a florist, this one will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Recently, I had the incredible honor of creating the casket spray for my grandmother-in-law's funeral in Georgia.

Through the kindness of another flower shop, I was given the opportunity to step behind their design table and create one final gift of love for someone who meant so much to our family.

As I carefully selected each bloom and placed every stem, I wasn't just designing flowers—I was pouring memories, gratitude, and love into every detail.

In a profession where I help others express their feelings through flowers every day, it was deeply meaningful to be able to do the same for someone I loved.

Creating this tribute brought me comfort during a difficult goodbye. It reminded me that flowers are so much more than beautiful arrangements; they are a way to honor a life, celebrate cherished memories, and express the emotions that words often cannot.
I
am forever grateful for the opportunity to create this final expression of love for my grandmother-in-law. It was one of the greatest honors of my career and a moment I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

After an incredible 50 years in the floral industry, it is time to celebrate a career built on talent, ambition, determination, and a true passion for bringing beauty into the lives of others.

Vickie's journey began at Michael's Craft Store, where she spent 12 years designing stunning artificial arrangements and honing the creative skills that would become her life's work. From there, she stepped into her first professional floral design position, beginning a remarkable career that would touch countless lives through her artistry, dedication, and unwavering work ethic.

For five decades, Vickie has poured her heart into every arrangement she created, every customer she served, and every workplace she helped flourish. Her creativity, knowledge, and kindness have left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her.

While we are excited for this well-deserved new chapter, it is impossible to imagine our days without her. Vickie, you will be missed more than words can express. Thank you for your years of dedication, friendship, laughter, and the beautiful legacy you leave behind.
