Introducing the newest member of the Tera Janelle Design Team! Emily joined TJD earlier this year, and has quickly become an integral part of our design team and family. A University of Alabama graduate with a degree in interior design, Emily brings to the team a decade of experience in construction and design. After graduating from UA, she returned home to Charlottesville, where she worked as a Project Manager in the construction and design industry. A few years later, her creative ambitions led her west to Denver. There she worked as a designer at two large interior design firms and had the opportunity to collaborate with talented teams on a variety of unique residential and commercial projects.

While her projects took her across the country, her heart eventually drew her back to Virginia. Emily, her husband, their daughter, and their naughty cat now proudly call Lynchburg home. Between the chaos of motherhood and her own home renovation projects, Emily recharges outdoors – skiing, fly fishing, and gardening – or enjoying live music with family and friends.

On site at this whole-home reno, and the basement demo is complete and fun surprises mean we are PIVOTING to capture this awesome space once lost behind the walls. Gonna be the coolest, oversized built-in sofa and lounge meets movie room and mahjong room and wine bar. Got the kids and adults covered!! No one is going to want to leave the basement. 😂

An end of year recap, slightly delayed, but worth the pause. Furniture deliveries, “hold this just there…down a little, up a little,” new project site measures, and allllllll the notes! We wrapped up 2025 with two reveals, full hearts, a team trip to Keswick Hall and the , and a few special life moments in between. As we step into this new year, I just wanted to pause and say thank you. A deeply grounded sense of home has always been an anchor in my life, and to get to create such homes and refuges for incredible families is an immense gift. Thank you for trusting our team. So very grateful for another year with this incredible TJD team!
