A Pocket Full of Spring

It's been a menrally chaotic couple of weeks. Sometimes life takes you down paths that you need to sit and simmer in.

I managed to find a bit of unwind time this past Saturday as the hubby slept his head cold away. My boy and I decided to paint, create and converse.

That's what we did.

My bathroom is going to be undergoing a remodel this summer (prayers going up) and this is a perfect start.

Don't throw those old blue jeans put before taking the back pockets.

Have an old butter dish and salt and pepper shakers laying around? How adorable and easy is this?

Oh happy day! With the warmer temps the passed few days, our girls decided to give us a gift. I'm sure we'll find another today. Cooler temps are coming back, so the laying may hault again. Only time will tell. But this egg symbolizes the coming of Spring growth. He keeps every promise He makes.

I've held on to our wedding flowers and finally made a decision on what to do with them.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about an all blue rose wreath, but I think it's stunning.

*Update to the washcloth stained board. A very cute countertop riser. I did use the reverse side since I sanded poorly.

Just some acrylic paint and a wet washcloth. I love how this technique grabs the grain.

It has been a bit since I've done, and was reminded of something this morning... Be sure to sand your wood in the same direction. This technique will grab every grain.

I love how I turned the barnwood red into this soft mauve.
