If you’ve been following the foyer journey on my stories, here are a few details of the space šŸ¤

I think I love this space so much because although it’s tiny, it packs quite the punch with so many of my favorite things. It’s almost like my personality threw up in here but like, in the best way possible…?

Antique mirrors, original art, layered pattern, plates, all my favorite colors and a mix of high and low pieces that I’ve collected over time.

And, y’all know I’m all about balance over here and I think it’s so important to invest in good pieces but also, reuse, repurpose and thrift baby, thrift.

The console table was actually a roadside find from our old neighborhood - it might not be my absolute favorite but it was free and I loveeee free. The Nepalian brackets came from an estate sale, the coral was a flea market find and the majolica plates were thrifted too.

We got the mirror for a steal, but I invested in the lamp shades years ago for our old primary bedroom because I couldn’t stop thinking about them.

And honestly, I think that proves my theory that if you buy what you love, you’ll always find a home for it.

Like everything in my home, I’m sure this room will keep evolving over time and thankfully I still have a couple blank walls… which sounds like the PERFECT excuse to collect more art (hopefully Rob didn’t make it this far in the caption 🤭).

I’ve reallyyyyy been enjoying flowers these last couple of months.

Between my birthday, Mother’s Day and all the springtime activities, I’ve been lucky enough to have the house filled with them and it’s brought me so much joy.

One of my favorite little rituals is going to to fill my containers and flower beds for the season. I’ve planted my favorite, peonies, in my garden bed this year. We had them at the bungalow and I’m hoping they do well here too. šŸ¤žšŸ¼

Also, how come no one told me about double impatiens?! Absolutely stunning!! And perfect for my shady back patio!

Anywho, here’s your friendly reminder to, if you’re like Stuart, stop and stare at the flowers. But you can smell them too šŸ˜†

Being this little chicken’s mom is hands down the best thing that has ever happened to me.

It’s better than my wildest dreams, and I dreamed about it for a longggggg time. Thank goodness it all led to her. šŸ’—

i grabbed some cafe curtains for the windows in our kitchen to help create some privacy and also block out some of the heat (single pane windows and cooking in the kitchen are 🄵).

they were a smidge too long for our windows and i wasn’t about to let that stop me from creating the look i wanted.

my dream is do add a brass rod and clips but, this will do for now! all of the supplies i used are linked in my bio or comment ā€œCAFEā€ and ill send you an dm with all the deets.

šŸ‘€ a lil glimpse of my latest insta saves.

while I can’t actually make all of these dreams a complete reality (cause like, I can’t redo floors or move walls), I’m sooo excited to do what I can ( 🫣) to turn our little house into a home full of timeless, collected antiques that have a story, affordable knick knacks, pops of bold color (preferably chartreuse and cobalt blue), natural textures and foliage everywhere, layers upon layers and lived-in nooks and crannies.

✨ a quick before and after of the exterior: paint and landscaping make alllllll the difference. and that’s a hill i WILL die on, folks.

can’t wait to do another before and after when these guys have had a chance to grow and fill in šŸ’•

next up: a new front door k**b and filling my containers with fall blooms! 🪓

✨ kitchen before and after ✨

i’m currently sitting in a sea of boxes and packing paper (seriously it’s ridiculous) but i’m just feeling so grateful for this before and after.

it’s truly amazing what a facelift can do and i can’t wait to share how we style it. which, if i know one thing about me, will be a process that doesn’t ever end.

check the links in my bio and the kitchen highlight for details. or leave a question and i’ll share more deets!

Three rooms and a vision. And one verrrrrry full mood board to bring it all together. šŸ¤

This year’s Turk house project is finishing our foyer, living room and dining rooms. They all connect, so I need them to feel cohesive, but I still want each space to have its own personality.

It might be my roots in corporate graphic design, but I always find myself starting with a mood board. It helps me get everything out of my head and onto paper and gives us (Rob and my design assistant, Stuart, duh) something to come back to when we’re making decisions. Or, when I’m at Scott’s and see something SO COOL but then quickly need to get reined in (lookin’ at you, Rob).

I don’t always follow it perfectly. It’s truly more of a guide so if I come across a piece I love that fits the vibe, even if it’s not exactly on the board, I know it’ll work. Because repeat after me, if you buy what you love, you’ll always find a home for it.

Across all three spaces I’m pulling from a similar color palette, but letting different colors lead in each room. Mixing old and new, layering antiques with fabrics and texture, and of course, letting it come together over time.

The foyer is the first impression, so I want it to feel fun and a little funky. The wallpaper quite literally ties together so many of the colors in our home and really sets the tone. When we saw it, we couldn’t stop thinking about it.

The living room is where I imagine we’ll gather over the years. I envision a more formal Christmas tree in the corner, a place for a pre-dinner cocktail or a game of cards around the fire. Comfortable and inviting, but not somewhere you settle in all night. Light and airy but still grounded with depth and texture.

The dining room feels more elevated and slightly more handsome. Also cozy, a little more formal, and timeless. I want it to feel like it’s always been this way.

After this first step of laying everything out, moving things around and letting the spaces evolve - I move to ex*****on. Which, as you’ve seen on my stories, I’m already doing because the best rooms take lottttts of time and it’s already May?? šŸ¤

Plates around a mirror? For a nursery? Groundbreaking.

Name that movie šŸ˜†

I found these sweet plates at an estate sale (classic), sconces at an antique store in Milledgeville and the mirror is from my childhood home.

I didn’t plan on them all living together when I found them. But when you collect things that you love over time, it all ends up working out.

Nursery details šŸ¤

My favorite room in the house, thoughtfully collected over time with pieces that hold meaning and a story.

I hope she grows up knowing that the best things take time and she was sooooo worth waiting for.
