I believe the entrance is one of the most important spaces in a home. It is the first place that welcomes you in, setting the tone for what follows and helping you transition from the outside world into the comfort of home.

In this large, open foyer, the goal wasn’t to fill the space. It was to create a sense of intimacy without taking away from the architecture. I love how the glass pendants fill the vertical space and add sculptural interest without interrupting the openness or adding visual weight. A glass side table connects back to the pendants, while the marble table introduces movement and natural variation.

A vintage settee beneath the staircase creates a welcoming place to pause or set down packages when coming in from the garage. The custom green leather chairs, artwork and greenery bring color and softness to the architecture.

An entrance doesn’t need a lot of furnishings to feel complete. A few thoughtfully chosen pieces can create warmth, allow the architecture to breathe and help you exhale the moment you step inside.

Most people see the finished room.

What they don’t see are the hundreds of details that happen before the photographer arrives.

Truckloads of furniture.
Hundreds of boxes to unpack.
Artwork to install.
Beds to make.
Glassware to polish.
Furniture to adjust.
Unexpected problems to solve.
Last-minute styling decisions.

Every installation is equal parts planning, logistics, craftsmanship, and problem solving.

It’s never just about placing furniture. It’s about creating a home that feels effortless for the people who will live there.

As install is a TON of work, I love it as it is so fun to see the transformation that the furniture makes. The home comes alive!

Seeing months, and sometimes years of planning finally come together never gets old.

Last week the boulders arrived, and my woodland garden officially began taking shape!

I believe the spaces we create have an impact on our daily lives. That’s why the spaces we create matter, indoors and out. Having a space that feels like a retreat is so important to me.

My goal is to create a Japanese-inspired woodland garden that feels timeless, natural, and true to its surroundings. Even some of my favorite visitors stopped by to inspect the progress. 🦌

Watching this vision come to life has been so rewarding, and I can’t wait to enjoy it!

Thank you,

Super fun day getting out of the office, soaking up the sunshine, and gathering inspiration with my landscape designer.

I have always loved creating a strong connection between indoors and out. Layers of green, natural stone, interesting textures, sculpture, water, and spaces that invite you to slow down and stay awhile.

Lots of ideas and possibilities to explore!
