🥫❤️ HELP US FEED LOCAL FAMILIES THIS SUMMER ❤️🥫

In partnership with the Mahwah Police Department 👮‍♂️🚔, the Mahwah Recreation Department is collecting food and household essentials for the Center for Food Action. 🤝

Did you know that the summer months are some of the most difficult times for families facing food insecurity? ☀️ When school is out, many children lose access to school breakfast and lunch programs, creating an even greater need for community support. 🍎🥪

📦 Most Needed Items:
🥜 Peanut Butter
🍇 Jelly
🥣 Cereal
🍫 Granola Bars
🧽 Cleaning Supplies

📍 Donation Drop-Off Locations:
🏛️ Mahwah Town Hall through July 1st.

🎡 The Mahwah Police Department will also be collecting donations all four nights of the LEAD Carnival!
📅 Carnival Dates June 25–28

Every donation—big or small—helps support our neighbors in need and makes a difference right here in our community. ❤️

🚧 Park Update 🚧

Exciting progress is happening at Continental! 🎉 While one company was hard at work installing the new backstop 🛠️🏈🥎⚾️⚽️🥍, another was busy giving the press box a fresh new look with a fresh coat of paint 🎨✨.

And we’re just getting started! 🚀 There is so much more in store for this project, and we can’t wait to share it with you. 📸👀 More photos and updates are coming soon!

🌳🏟️ Park improvements are well underway, and it’s exciting to see the vision becoming reality one step at a time.

Join the Mahwah Senior Center tomorrow for a health and wellness expo!

This weekend…! Our Fourth Annual Health & Wellness Expo – A family “A” Fair. Join us on Saturday, June 13th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Free blood pressure screening, hands-on CPR, meet the dietician. Something for everyone. A great way to meet community leaders, get great resources and learn something fun. We invite not only seniors but those who have adult children journeying their lives right now as the “sandwich” generation.

Over the winter, our Recreation Department shared a community survey with residents—and the feedback was amazing! 🙌

We want you to know that we read EVERY single comment 👀📝 and have been working hard to turn your great ideas into reality.

Today, we kicked things off at Sam Braen Baseball Field by replacing the netting behind home plate! 🛠️🥎

This is just one of many improvements inspired by your suggestions. Thank you for helping us make our parks and recreation facilities even better for everyone! 💚🌟

In an effort to help keep our parks, fields, and courts safe, Mahwah has welcomed a new Park Ranger! 🌲

Our Park Ranger will be working in and around our parks to:

✅ Help enforce permit regulations 📋
✅ Promote safety for all visitors 🛝⚽🏀
✅ Protect our community spaces 🌿
✅ Ensure everyone can enjoy our parks responsibly 😊

UPDATE: IMPORTANT - CARNIVAL POSTPONED

Due to significant rainfall expected on Monday, the grass fields at Commodore Perry planned for the carnival are likely to be too saturated to use.

To protect these fields from damage caused by the weight of rides, equipment, and vehicles, we have decided to postpone the carnival. Preserving our recreational fields for future community use is a top priority. By postponing the event now, we can prevent long-term damage.
