🍑 Cinnamon Peach Crumble Bars
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 large egg
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375F 190C and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare the Crust: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and egg, blending until the mix forms coarse crumbs.
3. Form the Base: Firmly press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of your greased dish, forming a solid base.
4. Mix the Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the sliced peaches, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch until the peaches are well-coated.
5. Assemble: Layer the peach mixture evenly over the crust, then sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top.
6. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the crumble topping is golden and the filling is bubbly.
7. Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares to serve.
